Reed is a special kid. He’s a sweet, sensitive, kind hearted boy. He’s quiet, observant, and shy. His favorite color is pink and he loves rings, butterflies, and necklaces. All things that I love about him. Things that I never want to see him “grow” out of because of how he’s treated at school. It’s started. He’s upset that kids laugh when he chooses rings out of the “prize” box. He’s nervous about asking if he can have a ducky necklace instead of what the boys got. I don’t know if it’s better for him just to take it and be hurt by his friends or better for him to make different decisions when he’s with them. I am proud of him because it doesn’t stop him from loving the things he loves. Given a choice he picked a pink water bottle for his brother’s birthday and a ring for his party favor bag instead of a car.
Today, he chose a pink ball at the store. I love him.
